Top 5 Anime Movies with incredible Animation and glorious Visuals

Anime movies are a major part of the anime medium, and sometimes, they can be an unexpectedly pleasant and soothing experience.

In this post, we are going to talk about the “Top 5 Anime movies with incredible animation and glorious visuals.”

Let’s dive right into it.

5 - Tenki no ko (Weathering with you)

At first, we have Makoto Shinkai’s latest film, “Weathering with you.”

The premise itself is simple enough, the story starts with Tokyo facing an interesting predicament. Rain is pouring down harder than ever before. It’s gotten so bad that everyone’s daily life is getting affected by this everlasting rain.

Now in the middle of such a hefty situation, there is a boy named Hodaka Morishima. He is a sixteen year old high school student who has run away from his home for unstated reasons, and is now undergoing financial struggle right in the middle of Tokyo.

Things aren’t looking good, but one encounter leads to another as Hodaka finds himself amidst a complicated situation, and what makes things more interesting is this newfound partnership with a girl who is capable of clearing the thick sky and making the Sun shine.

The movie came out in 2019, and if we are talking about visual appeal, you won’t be disappointed.

This movie can be a refreshing watch, especially on a rainy day. But don’t think of it as a spiritual successor to Makoto’s most successful film, “Kimi no Nawa,” they are both standalones after all.

4 - Howl no Ugoku Shiro (Howl’s moving castle)

For anyone who has ever gotten around to watching Anime Movies, they must’ve had at least one run-in with a studio Ghibli movie, and for very good reasons.

Written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, these movies are always a delight to see, and they remain so, regardless of how many years pass by.

This one here is another Studio Ghibli film, and despite the fact that it came out back in the year 2004, the aesthetics are still of the highest order, and for that reason, it just had to be included in this list.

The story itself is about a girl named Sophie. She is a hatmaker’s daughter who doesn’t expect anything major to ever happen in the future, and for what its worth, she is content working in the shop.

But then something unprecedented happens and Sophie ends up in a not so comfortable situation.

She is unexpectedly turned into an old woman, and now she has to accompany a wizard name Howl in his moving castle?

An adventure fantasy about courage and facing one’s fears, it has a lot to offer both in terms of its narrative and its visual appeal.

3 - Kimi no nawa (Your name)

Now here we have Makoto Shinkai’s most prominent work, “Kimi no Nawa.” This movie has been dominating popularity charts ever since it first came out.

To put this perspective, it is not just a popular anime movie, it’s one of the most popular anime in general.

It follows the story of two young’uns, namely Mitsuha and Taki.

Mitsuha is a high school girl who frequently wonders what it’s like to live in Tokyo, as she lives her mundane life in the countryside. Taki, on the other hand, is a high school student living in Tokyo, he has a part time job as well as high hopes for the future, as he continues to pursue his passion in architecture.

One day, their lives change or rather, intertwine, when Taki wakes up in the body of a young girl, and Mitsuha also finds herself in a young boy’s body and realizes that she is in the middle of the bustling city of Tokyo.

This strange phenomenon continues as both of them frequently switch bodies overnight, but what does this mean for them, and how will it affect their lives?

2 - Wolf Children

Wolf Children is beautiful story that came out in the year 2012, but despite being brilliant in its narrative it often goes under the radar, that’s why not many anime fans know of this movie.

It tells us the story of a college student named Hana, who ends up falling in love with a mysterious young man, but little did she know that this young man isn’t human.

On every full night’s moon, he transforms into a werewolf. It just so happens that the young man she fell for happens to be the last werewolf there is. But that doesn’t bother Hana. Both of them end up together and soon enough, they even start a family.

Two children are born, one is named Ame (Rainfall) and the other is named Yuki (Snowfall).

As you can expect, both of them, inherited the ability to turn into werewolves. But that was ok too.

However, a sudden event leaves Hana devastated as she is left alone to raise the two children all by herself.

It is an emotionally captivating story, one that tells us the essence of being a mother in an unforgiving society.

1 - A Silent Voice (Koe no Katachi)

Koe no Katachi, or “A Silent Voice” as some people call it, is a brilliantly crafted gem.

It’s based on a masterpiece manga of the same name, by Yoshitoki Ooima (She is also the author of the most appreciated anime this season, “To Your Eternity”).

The plot centers around a deaf girl, Shouko Nishimiya. She transfers into her new school and is immediately subjected to bullying by some of her fellow classmates. And the center of all that bullying is a boy named Shouya Ishida.

But this never ends well for him.

Nishimiya’s mother notifies the school about the bullying, and she herself transfers to another school. As for Shouya, he is ostracized by not just the teachers, but also the students for what he did to Nishimiya.

It is an emotionally intoxicating dilemma, but it allows Shouya to realize what he did wrong, which in turn, leads a way for him to redeem himself when he meets Nishimiya once again.

“Koe no Katachi” is Shouya’s redemption arc, and the way it is executed is beautiful.

There you go everybody. These were the “Top 5 Anime movies with incredible animation and glorious visuals”.

That’s all from us. See ya next time!
