Top 10 One Piece Husbandos

While the discussions related to who are the best One Piece waifus have always dominated the One Piece fandom, let us take this opportunity to also discuss who are the best Husbandos. We have plenty of admirable men, don’t we?

By the way, we also have a list on “The Top 10 One Piece Waifus,” feel free to check it out!

Well then, shall we begin?

10 - Dracule Mihawk

Back when he first showed up, he was a nothing short of a Monster. He was about as serious as one can get, and the only time we saw him smile was when he cut Zoro. He has a strong sense of Honor, and he respects ambitious men whom he thinks will go on to do great things.

This hasn’t changed much over the years. When Zoro and Perona were on Mihawk’s island, we saw firsthand how Mihawk is just a stupidly profound introvert. He never really minded the two fellows, trained Zoro over the timeskip, and enjoyed Perona’s cooking all this time. Well, despite how he is on the battlefield, he has a sense of Hospitality.

9 - Sabo

As someone who was ashamed of his origins, there was point where he even wished that he shouldn’t have been born to begin with.

This was what became the foundation of his future as a Revolutionary, one who, by definition, brings change to the One Piece world.

Even in their early days, Sabo was the nice and tactful one of the three brothers. He frequently helped both Ace and Luffy to get along, and Luffy also deemed him to be kinder than Ace.

All in all, despite what happened in the past, Sabo is a passionate young fellow. His interactions with Koala and Hack are always a delight to see.

We, the One Piece fans, patiently await what the story has in store for us when it comes to Sabo.

8 - Kozuki Oden

Kozuki Oden is the only married character on this list, and for all the right reasons, he is the manliest of men, a legend among legends, the greatest Samurai of the wonderful land of Wano.

A man whose death will be talked about for centuries to come.

Oden was a dreamer, a man who wanted to see the world, go on adventures, and its genuinely inspiring to see how his will was inherited, not just by his retainers, his son, but also by Yamato.

“Leaving this country is my dream!! Take me with you, let me see the world!!”

-Kozuki Oden

If anything, even though Oden was a bit naïve, he embodies what it means to be a Man.

7 - Shanks

"You Can Pour Drinks On Me. You Can Throw Food At Me. You Can Even Spit On Me. I'll Just Laugh That Stuff Off. But...Good Reason Or Not...Nobody Hurts A Friend Of Mine!"

-Shanks

Even in the early days, Shanks was always innocent and playful, he enjoyed himself wherever his crew went. He could also be stubborn when he had arguments with Buggy. In more ways than one, young Shanks was like Luffy.

Even now, whenever we get a scene of Shanks and his crew on a random island, they are mostly just having a good time. It appears Shanks has no interest in One Piece, he is more of a pacifist, the Man who helps maintain the balance of the world from Collapsing.

Maybe his pacifistic nature is also why his moral code is so complex. But among the many things, what fans await is more Shanks screentime!

6 - Donquixote Rosinante

“I’ll die smiling!! Because if you ever think of me in the future. I want you to remember me SMILING!”

-Donquixote Rosinante

Rosinante’s life is heartbreaking, and even after everything he went through, he still never lost his moral compass.

The man has a heart of a giant. Even as a part of the Donquixote crew, he acted abusive toward kids, not out of contempt, but to keep them from joining the crew.

Regardless of the devil Doflamingo turned out to be, Rosinate truly inherited his father’s kindness, in a world where someone’s origin or even grudges of what happened in past can turn them evil, he was a rare asset, a legendary existence.

Out of all the characters in the story, Rosinate is the one who best embodies the idea of Love. We can even go so far and say, pure selfless love.

5 - Monkey D. Luffy

"I'm Pretty Sure I Can't Live Without Being Helped!"

-Straw Hat Luffy

Here we have the protagonist himself, and honestly, creating such a loveable character is by far among Oda’s greatest feats.

Instinctively, he has shown to be capable of exhibiting a deep, yet almost intrinsic understanding of other people’s feelings and emotions. Of course, he can be a little tense and stupid, however, when it actually counts, no one can read the room like him.

Whatever he does, he brings about a change in the people around him.

He has this thing about him that makes people want to follow him. He knows the value of friendship, of depending on each other, of having fun, of music, of meat, as well as what is it that really matters.

It's not his powers or techniques. He possesses some quality that makes people want to help him. And on these waters, that is the most formidable power of all!

-Dracule Mihawk

The only reason he isn’t higher up on the list is because, Luffy, of all people, will never fit the idea of a “Husbando.”

4 - Portgas D. Ace

"We have to live a life of no regrets."

-Portgas D. Ace

Back when they had their reunion in Alabasta, Ace was quite vividly more intelligent and polite than Luffy. Not to mention, all those mannerisms he had learnt from Makino, he was putting them to good use by greeting everyone with great care.

Ironically, since his mannerisms were so different than Luffy, it also made the Straw Hats wonder if the two of them really were related or not.

Ace was saved by Luffy and Sabo, if it weren’t for them, he could’ve eventually gone down a dark path.

However, because of them, he eventually decided that he was going to Live a Life of no regrets, and that’s what a man is ought to do.

3 - Trafalgar Law

Law has had a rough, downright heartbreaking past.

He lost everything, and while he could’ve eventually become a devil more fearsome than Doflamingo. But because he had Corazon, he was saved.

“Law won't obey you anymore, Doffy!

Plagued by the Amber Lead Disease, he was condemned to die in three years, but he has overcomed it.

The lost boy blinded by anger and despair to follow the Mad Pirate is no more!

There is nothing he can learn from a monster hungering for destruction like you!!”

He may seem rather unkind at first, but in his heart, there is still plenty of compassion and kindness, though he can often be reluctant to admit it.

He is extremely popular among the fandom.

At one point, he even stole the second spot from Zoro, which is a testament of how well liked and respected Trafalgar Law, or should I say, Trafalgar D. Water Law is.

2 - Roronoa Zoro

There are many characters in One Piece who embody certain virtues.

Well, Zoro is a man who embodies ambition. It is more important to him than his life, his everything, however, even for a man of his caliber who’d rather choose death over defeat; for him to submit and protect his captain’s life. That is the level of loyalty we are talking about.

“If I can't even protect my captain's dream, then whatever ambition I have is nothing but talk! Luffy must be the man who becomes the Pirate King!”

-Roronoa Zoro

And if the two elements, both ambition and loyalty combine, greatness multiplies, and you get a man worthy of being the Right Hand of the Pirate King himself.

Also, his interactions with Hiyori were really wholesome and adorable!

Let us await more of these moments.

1 - Vinsmoke Sanji

"Men who can't wipe away the tears from a women's eyes, aren't real men."

-Vinsmoke Sanji

People may be put off by seeing Sanji in the first place considering how he is often the scapegoat when it comes to perverted gags, but let’s not forget the kindness, chivalry, righteousness, and honor that really defines this incredible character.

Both Sanji and Zoro are the two wings which’ll allow the Pirate King to soar. While Zoro embodies Ambition, Sanji embodies Honor.

He is the embodiment of chivalry, a man who’d rather die than go against his moral code. A true gentleman.

Even after how he was betrayed by Pudding, he never stopped acting like a gentleman with her. Thinking about it, that whole arc as well as the thematic value that it portrayed, it further cemented Sanji’s virtues, how his kindness and chivalry are a treasure.

Add that with the fact that Sanji can cook, and you get the ideal Husbando!

So, there you go guys, these were our picks for the Top 10 One Piece Husbandos.

That’s all folks!
